Veditum is a not-for-profit research and media organization based out of Kolkata, India, working at the intersection of environment, culture and society. Our current work is centered on Indian rivers, and life in and around these rivers. With an aim to create publicly accessible records – ecological, anthropogenic, hydrological, social, and even more contextual layers – of these spaces and of people’s stories.

Our documentary film – Moving Upstream: Ganga has been travelling to film festivals, community spaces, schools and colleges across India. See the documentary page for more details!

The Moving Upstream: Sindh fellowship program is currently underway, with fellows walking along the river and creating a grassroots documentation of the river and the riparian community.
