a day of change makers coming together in Kolkata
Hosted by Veditum, Agami, and the Kolkata Change Makers community, the convening held on 4th October 2026 brought together practitioners from diverse fields. Change makers from across India came together to share their ideas and practices, aiming to foster collaborations and inspire change making efforts.
Participants engaged through immersive workshops, talks, interactive sessions, and lightning talks. We discussed law, education, climate change, community building, dispute resolution, access to justice, waste in the city, animal rights, and more.
Along side we had stalls focusing on art, up-cycling, and building agency for communities. The day was bookended by musical & theatre performances.

Kolkata Change Makers Community
Kolkata Change Makers (KCM) is a growing community anchored by Veditum India Foundation, looking to implement positive change in the city of Kolkata. These largely focus on topics that fall at the intersection of environmental & social justice, in line with the vision of Veditum.
The Kolkata Change MakerSpace [at Veditum’s office] regularly hosts monthly circles, workshops and interactive sessions led by experts, active members of the KCM community, and also by Veditum’s wider network of collaborators.
We also collaborate with partners across the city on various projects. Learn more about the KCM community and find ways to join the community at the KCM webpage: Kolkata Change Makers
