About the Documentary

Poster for the documentary. Created by Aindri C

This documentary, filmed on a 3000km walk along River Ganga by Siddharth Agarwal, is part of Veditum India Foundation’s Moving Upstream project. The walk took place between June 2016 and April 2017, starting from Ganga Sagar in West Bengal and finishing at Gangotri in Uttarakhand.

Initiated with an intention to document the river and life of the riparian community of River Ganga, the project attempts to amplify the voices and concerns of the river people, woven together through the medium of the walk.

This project was made possible with the generous support of hundreds of friends, strangers & partners who supported our crowdfunding campaigns and shared their knowledge, resources and connections. But most of all, it is the people of the river who really made this film possible with their stories, and provided food, shelter and warmth without hesitation.
